Stromboli is an Italian-American dish that is made with dough topped with pizza toppings, then rolled into a log, baked in the oven and sliced before serving. It is believed to have originated in Philadelphia in the mid-20th century. (Source)

This Pepperoni Stromboli is quick to make and filled with layers of mozzarella, pepperoni and Italian seasonings. It’s kid-friendly and will fill bellies, making it the perfect weeknight dinner.

You can use a store-bought pizza dough or whip up your favorite homemade dough. I like to use my Bread Machine Pizza Dough recipe because all you need to do is throw several simple ingredients into the bread machine and then you have homemade dough two hours later that is ready to be rolled and baked into this delicious Stromboli with minimal effort.
