Bread Machine Pizza Dough

Homemade pizza is cheaper and healthier than the store-bought kind and it’s really easy to customize it to your family’s taste. Want tons of cheese? Go ahead and add it. Want piles of pepperoni? Do it!

Making pizza at home is a fun way to pass a lazy Friday evening with your family and of course, it’s always a win for the kids.

Using your bread machine to mix the dough makes it even easier and less of a mess. Why not let the machine do the work while you prep the toppings or chop the salad?

Friday night family pizza night might just become a new tradition with this super simple recipe.

Can Yeast Be Kept in the Freezer?

Yes, this is the best way to keep yeast fresh for the longest amount of time. I like to purchase my yeast in bulk and keep it in the freezer, with a smaller amount kept in a jar in the fridge to use as needed.

Can You Freeze the Pizza Dough?

Yes! You can make multiple batches of the dough, then simply, wrap each finished dough in plastic wrap and place it into a freezer bag. Label the freezer bag and place it in the freezer.

Once you are ready to use it, let it thaw, then roll it out and bake as usual.

Should You Pre-Bake the Crust?

Some recipes will tell you to pre-bake and some will say it isn’t necessary. Basically you can do it either way, but as long as you get the temperature and cooking time right without over loading the dough with too many ingredients, pre-baking shouldn’t be needed.

How many pounds would this be? My breadmaker asks if it’s 1 pound, one and a half pounds, or 2 pounds?
