Air Fryer Apple Hand Pies

I have fond memories of my grandma making fried hand pies and the taste was out of this world. I guess that’s why hand pies seem so old-fashioned and nostalgic to me, because they’re associated with my grandma.

I prefer a hand pie over a regular pie any day of the week. I guess that’s because they’re traditionally deep fried and coated with icing, but this recipe is air fried making them less messy and every so slightly healthier.

This recipe is semi-homemade, using canned biscuits and canned apple pie filling, but feel free to sub your favorite pie crust and pie filling recipe to make them 100% from scratch. 1. I had to smile when I saw this. My mother used to make fried apple pies (before they became known as hand pies) with canned biscuits. She didn't have an air fryer, so she just fried them in an iron skillet. The best!!! She also used flour tortillas to make chicken and dumplings.
