Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. On the parchment, press or roll the cookie dough into a large rectangle. You may need to use flour to keep hands or rolling pin from sticking.

Bake the cookie for 15 to 20 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the middle is cooked. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before decorating.

In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.

Wash and dry the fruit. Slice the strawberries.

Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over the surface of the cookie. Decorate flag as shown with fruit.

Place whipped topping in a piping bag fitted with an open star tip. Create white stripes with the whipped topping.

Refrigerate until ready to serve. Best if served immediately.

  1. I want to make this to take to someoneโ€™s house. Do you think the whipped cream will hold up on the drive there?
    1. Iโ€™ve been making fruit pizza for many years. I use a cream cheese and marshmallow cream topping and put a citrus glaze over it. If itโ€™s refrigerated for a while before you leave, it holds up quite nicely.
  2. Could you make up the dough a couple days before you put anything on it . Would it last ok ? Would you store in refrigerator
  3. Made this yesterday for our Fire Dept Family picnic! Itโ€™s fun to waltz into a party with something so pretty! Does anyone know how to cut it and keep it looking pretty, or is supposed to look like a free for all once itโ€™s cut into. Iโ€™ve tried precutting it but the cookie base gets crumbly, so I now see the value in waiting for the filling to soften it a bit before cutting!
