The Easiest Strawberry Jam Recipe EVER
I made freezer jam for the first time back in 2015 and ever since then I’ve been hooked. I love it because it’s easier to make (no cooking is involved) than traditional jam, it uses less sugar and it tastes just like fresh strawberries. The only downside I can think of is that you can’t really give it as a gift since it needs to remain frozen.
Normally I pick around 9+ quarts of strawberries each year to freeze and make into jam, but with our move I didn’t get a chance this year. I didn’t want to miss out on all the fun so I decided to use store-bought instead.
I made a small batch of freezer jam which took less than an hour from start to finish. This is the perfect beginner recipe for jam because it’s so fast and easy.
Give it a try and I know you’ll be hooked just like me. Also, be sure to check out the recipe links below for fresh, homemade biscuits and bread to spread your delicious jam onto when you are done.

I make frozen strawberry jam every year but my recipe calls for lemon. I know why lemon is used so when your jam comes out of the freezer will it turn brown when you have it out for awhile. Can you re freeze your jam?
Mine has never turned brown. I believe you can refreeze it.
I’ve never made freezer jam-when you take it out of the freezer do you just store it in the refrigerator after you open it?
Yes
I made the strawberry freezer JAM and it turned out a little runny
I am going to make another batch should I add anything?
Thank you
Monica
It is generally runnier than traditional jam.
I made the 3 ingredient freezer strawberry jam. It is in my freezer right now. I have a question concerning the pectin. I used Sure Jell fruit pectin & their instructions say to add a cup of water to sugar & pectin in saucepan & boil 1 minute. I read this after I followed your directions. Do you think not boiling will be ok. Thank you.
You are supposed to use Instant Pectin that is especially made for freezer jam. I don’t think yours will set.
I made this strawberry jam several months ago and put in freezer..but my freezer was inadvertently unplugged for an unknown time..all contents thawed..I s this jam still safe to eat? Thanks
Mold is the only concern with the Jam.
Yes i also made this and a bit thin and runny. How would I change to make a little thicker?
I think freezer jam is just runnier than traditional jam. The only thing that I could suggest is trying different kinds of pectin or adding something like chia seeds that absorbs moisture.
Can you use real fruit that does not say instant
No, you need Instant Pectin for the jam to set.
We love this jam! I’ve made it for several years now and we find it’s the perfect consistency. My 8 yr old daughter has said she won’t eat any other store bought jam she will only eat the freezer jam that I make!? ???
Thank you for sharing. Going to try this. I have a current blueberry freezer jam recipe I use every Christmas that I give as a gift . No pectin but it does use unflavored gelatin and sets up nicely. It will last in the fridge 2 weeks before freezing. Maybe unflavored gelatin would help for those who thought it a bit runny ??
Love this recipe and have used it the last couple of years. Have you ever made it with peaches or do you have a recipe for peach freezer jam. Just curious…thanks
I don’t have a peach freezer jam recipe, but I believe that Ball does on the Instant Pectin label.
This jam is sooooo good!
Can you use strawberries that have already been frozen to make frozen jam.
Yes, you can use frozen strawberries, but they will need to be thawed for you to be able to crush them.
