Soft & Fluffy 5-Ingredient Sour Cream Biscuits

Biscuits are everything to me and I love nothing more than a soft and fluffy homemade biscuit topped with butter and jam. It’s truly one of life’s pleasures for me.

I’ve had trouble in the past with hard, dry and crumbly biscuits, but I’ve figure out the secret to soft, fluffy and tender is sour cream. It raises the fat content creating a soft and fluffy crumb.

Ingredients for Sour Cream Biscuits:

  • all-purpose flour
  • baking powder
  • salt
  • butter
  • sour cream

How to Make Sour Cream Biscuits:

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and spray 9×13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Use a pastry blender or fork to cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse sand and the crumbs are pea sized.

Add the sour cream and stir until the dough come together. You may need to add more sour cream if it is dry and crumbly.

Flour your surface and pat dough down to about 1/2-1″ inch thick. Using a biscuit cutter or glass, cut dough into circles. Alternatively, you can shape into flat circles with your hands, if you desire.

Place the biscuits next to one another in the baking dish and bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
