Dutch Apple Pie

Dutch Apple Pie

Apple pie is one of my all time favorite pies which I guess that’s a good thing since we own an apple tree. I’ve been making this Dutch Apple Pie for a while now and I think I prefer it to the classic apple pie. The difference is that the dutch pie has a crumb topping whereas the classic has a pie crust top. Plus, since I make the crust from scratch, it’s easier to put together than having to whip up another batch for the top. So here is my take on Dutch Apple Pie. I know you will love it as much as I do!

My husband said this is possibly the best apple pie he's ever had. I used canned filling, but I used your crust recipe and he said that was the best part. And if was so easy! I also added some cinnamon and nutmeg to the topping and I think it turned out great.

I was always told put some lemon jello sprinkled of filling to keep it from bubbling over
