Sheet Pan Maple Walnut Apple Crisp

Sheet pan dinners are a great way to get a healthy meal on the table using fresh, whole ingredients, but why not use this method for desserts?

Sheet pan desserts are a great way to feed a crowd because they’re large and quick to put together. All you need to do for this apple crisp is to layer peeled and sliced apples covered in cinnamon sugar on the pan and then top with the maple walnut topping.

This apple crisp recipe is easily adapted for different fruits. It’s great to make in the fall when apples are in season, but feel free to swap the apples for any other in season fruit such as, peaches, pears, or berries. Also, if you can’t have nuts or simple don’t like them, feel free to leave them out.

How to Make Sheet Pan Apple Crisp:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease a baking sheet with raised edges.

Place the apple slices in a large bowl and sprinkle 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and the brown sugar over the top, then stir to coat.

Add ½ cup of flour to the apples and mix thoroughly.

Spread this apple mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.

In another bowl, place the remaining ½ cup of flour. Using yours hands or a pastry cutter, cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles small peas.

Add the other teaspoon of cinnamon, rolled oats, chopped walnuts, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir the mixture until it is well combined.
