See how to make this super easy oven-fried bacon for perfectly crispy results every time!

Oven-Fried Bacon

I can’t fry bacon without thinking about my grandparents. They used to get up really, really early and cook a full breakfast every morning including eggs, biscuits, gravy and bacon. I remember waking up to the smells of freshly brewed coffee and a homemade meal just waiting to be devoured.

I love bacon and all the memories it holds, but I don’t love the mess that comes with frying it in a frying pan. If you’re like me and you love bacon, but hate the mess then I’ve got an amazingly simple solution: Oven-Fried Bacon. It’s true, you can fry your bacon in the oven with minimal mess and no standing around a hot stove flipping bacon. Yay and yay! Plus, it always comes out perfectly flat and crispy which makes for great BLTs or breakfast sandwiches.

How to Make Oven-Fried Bacon:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Cover baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.

Lay bacon flat and close together, but not touching.

Cook bacon for 15-18 minutes depending on how crispy you like it.

Place bacon on paper towels to absorb excess grease.

Enjoy your perfectly cooked bacon!

Have you ever made bacon in the oven? What is your favorite way to eat bacon? I’d love to know!

This is a wonderful way to fry bacon, so you are free to do other things in the kitchen!

I love oven fried bacon! I can;t remember when I first learned it, but I know I haven't made it any other way in years. It's so easy and you can batch cook a few packages and freeze the leftovers (make sure they're cooked crispy for the best results).

I've heard about freezing bacon, but have never tried it. Thanks for the tip!

I also batch cook several packages of bacon at a time, although I try to slightly undercook most of it. When I want it, I take a few pieces out and microwave it for 10-15 sec and it cooks to perfection. The crispy ones, I crumble before freezing to use in recipes. I've never oven baked it before. Sounds easier, though.

I don't think there is a way that I don't love bacon- it's just yummy no matter how you eat it! I love frying bacon in the oven. It's so much easier and less messy than trying to fry it otherwise. One of the side benefits of bacon is all the yummy bacon grease that is leftover. :) I love using it for all sorts of things. Oh and like Rosemarie, I also love freezing bacon. It saves time and is so handy to pull out to use in quiche or other dishes.

I would like to try it. My concern is: will it make a mess in the oven? Will the grease pop up all over the place?

It didn't make a mess that I noticed.

I have been "baking my bacon" for years! I do not line the pans and seldom spray them and the pans are still a breeze to clean. I always cook the pound ( now 12oz) I don't even preheat the oven. I turn it on and lay out the bacon and pop it in the oven. Great way to go for a brunch with 2 pans going at the same time (I do rotate the pans for that). I wish I froze the bacon after it was fried then I would not be eating it all in a day or so!
