Homemade Cream of Chicken Soup

Its common for soups and casserole recipes to call for canned cream of chicken or mushroom soup, but if you don’t buy them or simply don’t have any in the house, you might want to know how to make it yourself.

I’m a big proponent of making everything that I can from scratch to save money and be healthier. It’s really not hard to make your own cream soups at home, it only takes a few minutes and some simple ingredients.

It does require a little extra time and effort, but if you plan ahead you could whip up a batch for the fridge to be ready for when you need it throughout the week.

This is a basic cream soup recipe using chicken broth, but you could easily add diced celery or mushrooms to change the flavor if you need to.
