Easy Christmas Bark

One of my favorite ways to celebrate the Christmas season is by making homemade treats for those that I love.

I would much rather bake up a basket full of goodies to give than purchase a store-bought gift. I put a lot of love into my food and that’s why I especially enjoy coming up with new recipes to share with you here.

I’ve tried candy making in the past and have failed many times over (i.e burned my finger making microwave peanut brittle and burned my mom’s stove top making homemade taffy), but this has to be the EASIEST candy recipe you will ever make. And isn’t it so pretty???

Everyone will think that you spent a lot of time on this Easy Christmas Bark, when it reality it only takes a few minutes to put together.

Want to change up the toppings? Here are a few of my favorite ideas:

  • pecan pieces
  • sliced almonds
  • pistachios
  • peanut butter chips
  • dried cranberries

Can I use White Chocolate instead of Chocolate?

Yes, you can swap the semi-sweet chocolate chips for white chocolate. You can also use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet and you can try using candy melts or chocolate bark instead of the chocolate chips.

I'm not exactly sure, I'd say at least a week or so, probably more if you kept it in the fridge. Mine didn't last that long though. :)

I used chocolate almond bark to make this and did not need the shortening in the recipe. This recipe worked great for me as I wanted to make pretzel rods with half the rod covered with white almond bark. THIS recipe was so much easier and quicker. I just made my first batch and plan to make 4 or 5 more batches to give as gifts at a family gathering this week. Thanks for this recipe. I will use it many times I am sure. :-)
