Homemade Powdered Sugar Biscuit Donuts

These powdered sugar biscuit donuts use only three simple ingredients and are a quick and easy way to make a delicious treat at home.

Powdered Sugar Biscuit Donuts

Donuts are one of my all time favorite desserts. In fact, next to chocolate chip cookies, they’re sitting right up there at the top. I love store bought donuts, but sometimes you just want to make them at home.

The only homemade donuts we ate growing up were these fried biscuit donuts. They’re really easy to make and only require three simple ingredients: canned biscuit dough, oil and powdered sugar. They really are as fun and easy as they sound to fry up.

These biscuit donuts are great dipped in powdered sugar, but you can also mix up a quick homemade glaze to dip them in as well.

To make a glaze simply mix 1 cup powdered sugar with 1 tbsp milk and 1 tsp extract of choice (vanilla, lemon, almond, peppermint, etc). You may need to add more milk to get the consistency that you desire.

How to Make Biscuit Donuts:

Fill a large frying pan with two inches of oil and heat over medium high heat.

While the oil is heating, remove the biscuits from the can.

Use a small round cookie cutter to cut holes from the center of each biscuit.

Place the donuts in the hot oil in groups of three. Cook one side for two minutes, then flip each donut and cook for an additional one to two minutes or until golden brown.

Remove the cooked donuts from the oil and immediately dip in powdered sugar. Flip each donut over and coat the bottom with powdered sugar.

Continue cooking the donuts and dipping into powdered sugar until all the biscuits are cooked and coated.

Drop the centers of each biscuit in the hot oil to make donut holes. Cook each donut hole for one minute on each side, then remove from the oil and roll in powdered sugar.
