Instant Pot Turkey Chili (Pressure Cooker)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 large sweet onion chopped
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 - 46 oz can of tomato juice
  • 1 - 15 oz can of stewed tomatoes
  • 1 can of Pinto beans or cook your own from dried
  • 1 can of dark red Kidney OR Chili beans
  • 3 heaping tbsp chili seasoning I like to make my own Homemade Chili Seasoning
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp  salt

Instructions

  • Press the "Saute" button on the Instant Pot and add ground Turkey and chopped onions.  Cook until the turkey is golden brown, and no longer pink, crumbling it up into small pieces while it cooks.
  • Turn off the "Saute" setting.
  • Add salt, pepper and chili seasoning. Stir well.
  • Add the beans, stewed tomatoes and minced garlic to the Instant Pot.
  • Add tomato juice and stir all ingredients together until well blended.
  • Place the lid on the Instant Pot and turn it until it beeps and locks. Set the pressure valve to "SEALING",  press the "MANUAL" button and set the time to 20 minutes.
  • Once the cooking time is done, let Instant Pot do a Natural Pressure Release for 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes, release the pressure turning the pressure valve to "VENTING". Once the pressure has been released, check the float valve to make sure it's all the way down.  Remove the lid from the Instant Pot and stir the chili.  It will have thickened a little during cooking. Serve immediately and enjoy!
