  • 2 8 ounce cans refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 5 Granny Smith Apples peeled, sliced, and cut into 1 to 2 inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg optional
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Place a large skillet over medium heat. Add apples, lemon juice, and water.
  • Cook for 7 to 8 minutes or until the apples begin to soften.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, cornstarch, and seasonings. Whisk together well.
  • Add the sugar mixture to the skillet and toss the apples to coat. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until the sugar syrup thickens, stirring often.
  • Remove from heat and cool slightly.
  • Meanwhile, line a baking sheet or baking stone with parchment paper.
  • With the crescent roll dough, create a ring with the largest end of the crescent rolls overlapping and the points outward like a sun (as shown in photo above).
  • Press down the crescents where they overlap.
  • Spoon the apple mixture onto the crescent dough in a circle.
  • Wrap the points of the crescent rolls over the apples and tuck underneath in the middle of the ring.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the crescent dough is golden.
  • Serve warm with your choice of powdered sugar, icing, ice cream, cinnamon sugar, or caramel sauce. Enjoy!
