Do you ever get on a kick where you have to have something like everyday?!? I did that with Outshine Bars last summer and I fully intend to carry the tradition on this summer. The reason why I got on this kick is actually kind of funny. I had a natural vbac (vaginal birth after cesarean) with my daughter last March and was only allowed to eat fruit pops while I was in labor. Well, at one point I agreed to a shot of pain medication which took the edge off the contractions.
After they gave me the shot, I literally remember just staring at my fruit pop thinking, “This is the best thing I’ve ever eaten.” LOL. I’m sure it had something to do with the narcotic they had just given me, but nonetheless, it was seriously good! After my labor, I craved orange fruit pops, so I started buying Outshine’s Tangerine Carrot Fruit & Veggie Bars. From then on, literally everyday after lunch my son and I would have an Outshine Bar on the back patio while my daughter bounced in her bouncy seat. *sigh* Such sweet memories.
When I tell you I like these bars, I’m not joking. I’ve even walked past them at the grocery store during the winter and thought to myself, “I can’t wait until it gets warmer so I can start eating those again.” Haha. Come to think of it maybe I have a problem…
Anyway, I’m really excited to tell you about Outshine’s NEW Simply Yogurt Bars. When I bought them I was thinking, “I bet they’re ok, but there’s not way they will beat the Tangerine & Carrots ones.” Oh. My. Word. They are so good! They taste like ice cream on a stick, only better for you.
For more than 18 years, Outshine has been making frozen fruit bars out of things like strawberries, peaches and coconut. One of the reasons I started buying Outshine Bars in the first place was the fact that they’re made with simple, honest ingredients that taste as good as they make you feel. For example, the yogurt bars are made with 100% real yogurt with live and active cultures in it. Plus, they have 5 grams of protein per bar and no artificial colors or flavors. This is truly a snack that satisfies and makes me feel good about giving my family.
If yogurt bars aren’t your thing, you will definitely want to head over to your local Wal-mart’s freezer section to check out Outshine’s full line of products including yogurt bars, fruit bars, coconut water bars and fruit & veggie bars. With so much variety, I’m sure you will quickly find your favorite.
Another reason I love Outshine is that they give back to the community in programs like Take Root, which plants fruit trees for public beautification/consumption and their commitment to Feeding America in providing fresh fruits and vegetables to communities in need. How awesome is that??
By now I’m sure you are dying to get your hands on an Outshine bar, right?? If so, be sure to check out more delicious ways to enjoy Outshine bars over at their Facebook page.
