Pan Fried Apples

We try to eat homemade pancakes or waffles for dinner once per week because it’s easy and super frugal. I’ve been enjoying homemade apple preserves on top of them since the Fall, but this last week we ran out. So I decided to make these easy Pan Fried Apples instead. They come together quick and only call for 4 ingredients. Plus, they’re better than any restaurant variety. I hope you enjoy!

How to Make Pan Fried Apples:

Peel, core and slice apples to 1/4 or 1/2 inch thickness.

Melt butter over medium heat.

Add apples to butter and cover (stirring occasionally) for approx. 6-8 minutes.

Once apples are soft, stir in sugar and cinnamon.

Cook additional 2-4 minutes. Serve Immediately.

  • 3 granny smith apples
  • 5 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  4. This reminds me of something that my mom used to make for a quick Sunday night dinner. Fried apples and hot dogs. When I asked her for the recipe several years ago she couldn't quite remember, but I've used these measurements to start and then adjusted it as needed. 1T. yellow mustard 2 T. bacon grease (we save the fat from frying bacon and pour it into a jar-keep it in the frig.) 3 T. honey, apx. 6 hot dogs sliced , About 3 apples cored and sliced but not pealed. If I have some apples that have gotten too soft to eat I use them for this recipe. It sounds strange, but it is really very tasty.
  5. I woke up with a craving for fried apples! I’ve never made them before but I used this recipe and they were soooo good. 🤤🤤🤤 I added a dash of redmonds salt, nutmeg and vanilla. I also used two honey crisp and 2 very small gala apples as it was all I had in my fridge. Think I could have either lessened the butter or added another apple… regardless these were amazing. Definitely going into my recipe folder. 😍
