Our Frugal Weekly Meal Plan on gracefullittlehoneybee.com

Sadly, my garden isn’t producing like it should so I’m having to purchase most of our produce this summer. I was however, able to do some canning this week. I put up 7 half-pints of sweet pickle relish and 5 half-pints of apple jelly. Also, I’ve started some cabbage and kale plants for fall so HOPEFULLY we can get our soil amended for a few good crops before winter. I saw a recipe in the ball canning book for Dixie relish which is basically a cabbage and pepper relish. Has anyone ever heard of this? I’m thinking about giving it a try. Anyway, on to this week’s meals.

My husband works a very physical job and "just couldn't survive" (his words) off this menu. I think he could but I garentuee there would be an evening popcorn snack etc, fresh fruit. When a person is physically active for their 9-10 hour job they need more than this for supper to maintain there energy or weight. Most farm family meals would include more an avacado or bacon as a protein source. Otherwise, I LOVE your blog! Thank you for all you!
