Frugal Weekly Meal Plan (4/20-4/24)

See our frugal weekly meal plan for a family of four.

Since so many of you (via Facebook) showed interest in seeing my frugal weekly meal plan I’m going to be sharing it here every Friday. I hope it doesn’t get too boring because we tend to eat pretty simply. I will try to share a link to the recipes as often as I can since I know people will be interested in making them. Also, to keep things simple I am only going to be sharing my dinners for Monday-Friday. We tend to eat leftovers, frozen pizza or sandwiches for lunch and on the weekends so I don’t think listing that would help you too much. I don’t menu plan for breakfast either, but here is a list of things that we typically eat.

Breakfasts

Fruit

Yogurt

Oatmeal

Egg Muffins

No-Bake Granola Bars

Banana Bread

Pumpkin Muffins

Buttermilk Biscuits

Pancake Squares

Energy Bars

Snacks tend to be simple as well with things like fruit, cheese & crackers, energy bites, etc. As you can see I cook from scratch a lot and try not to rely too much on convenience foods because it costs more than if I make it myself. Since I know people may want to know my budget is between $75-100 per week for food and household items (diapers, shampoo, dog food, paper towels, etc.) for a family of four. I try to keep it on the lower end, but like to give myself some breathing room if I need it. I shop at Aldi for most things and try to use coupons when I can at other stores. So anyway, on to the dinners!

Monday

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

We have this creamy taco soup at least oncer a week during the colder months. I love it because it's so easy and freezer friendly.

Tuesday

Fried Chicken Strips (homemade)

French Fries

Wednesday

BBQ at Bible Study

Thursday

Southwest Chicken Casserole

This casserole is easy, delicious, and freezer friendly!

Friday

Easy Tuna Salad (Mix 4 oz can tuna, 4 diced hard boiled eggs, 1/4 cup relish and 1/4 cup mayo.)

Baked Potatoes (using this method)

What’s for dinner at your house this week? I’d love to know!

Looks great! Glad I found you over at the Titus 2 Tuesday link up! That's about our budget as well but I have just about zero pantry or storage space and have found that to be the biggest challenge for us, because I can't buy anything in bulk. Do you buy a lot of bulk items when you shop?

I don't buy a lot in bulk, but I will stock up when things are on sale. We have a deep freeze and a small pantry for storage.

I try to stock up when things are on sale as well. I typically try to create a meal plan based on what is currently on sale. It's amazing how groceries can save us lots of money :)

Do you eat the tuna salad on bread?

We normally eat it as a sandwich, but you can also eat it as a dip with crackers.
