As I mentioned in last week’s meal plan, I’m participating in a 31 Day No-Spend Challenge this month. This means that I can only spend money on needs such as bills, gas, and minimal food (milk and produce). I have to admit that I did a grocery trip the day before the challenge started because I don’t tend to keep a lot of food in the house. I got what I thought we would need, but didn’t really stock up too much.
So far the challenge actually hasn’t been hard at all. I’m used to staying home and not spending money so really nothing has been different this past week. The only time I resisted spending money was after a doctor’s appt. I really wanted to stop at Chick-Fil-A, but I came home instead. I’ll be going out-of-town for a few days this weekend so I’ll have to eat out then, but that it the only time I am allowed to this month.
Here is a recap of the meals that we have eaten since the challenge started:
Ravioli Lasagna
Bean & Cheese Burritos
Slow Cooker Chili
Leftovers
Slow Cooker Chicken Noodle Soup
Pizza Pasta
Country Breakfast Bowls
Beans & Cornbread
This week should be more interesting as we will be trying to use up a lot of the stuff that I normally overlook in the freezer. Be sure to follow on Instagram for more updates on how the challenge is going for us. Here is what is I have planned for this week:
Saturday
Asian Chicken Stir Fry (from freezer)
Sunday
Herb & Garlic Chicken
Baked Spaghetti Squash
Monday
Slow Cooker Taco Soup
Tuesday
Grilled Fish and Veggies
(from freezer)
Wednesday
Slow Cooker Pesto Chicken & Rice
Thursday
Turkey Breast (from freezer)
Mashed Potatoes
Veggies
Friday
Homemade Waffles
Scrambled Eggs
Do you think you could do a no-spend challenge? I’d love to know!
